deviceOwl - Sounds, Speech & Haptics Preferences
Here you can configure what types of sounds are played, what speech is uttered & whether haptics (vibrations) are generated during device checking.
Enable Sounds
Enables/disables sounds played by the App during device checking.
Enable Haptics
Enables/disables haptics (vibrations) made by the App during device checking.
Enable Speech
Enables/disables speech uttered by the App during device checking.
When this setting is enabled, a list of voices available on your iPhone appears along with some additional controls that allow you to filter, test & select from this list.
Show Only HQ Voices
Filters to display only the high quality voices available for your iPhone. This includes Premium, Enhanced & Siri voices provided by Apple Intelligence.
Show Intl Voices
Enables display of all voices from all languages available for your iPhone.
Test Button
Plays a sample of the currently selected voice.
Downloading Premium & Enhanced Voices
Apple Intelligence includes a broad selection of additional Premium & Enhanced voices that can be downloaded through iPhone Settings.
Once downloaded, these voices will automatically show up & can be selected in deviceOwl preferences to use when announcing device detections.
Steps to Download Additional Voices
From your iPhone Settings, select "Accessibility - VoiceOver - Speech - Add Rotor Voice...".
Under each language, you can download additional Apple Intelligence voices by selecting the cloud icon to the right of each voice.
Once the download has completed, go back to deviceOwl preferences. The new voice appears and can be selected from the list of available voices.
